the athiesm of women/people of color/lgbt people is absolutely different than the athiesm of cishet white men and i feel like people forget that a lot

how?

Don’t have spoons for long explanation – also this is only speaking for christianity – but religion has been a force of oppression for women, people of color, and lgbt+ people and the rejection of the religion is often coupled with the rejection of how religion treats them.

I’ll also say that abuse survivors are included in this because it is a reaction to and an attempt to reconcile how (christian) god would allow abuse to happen.

For straight white men atheism is usually rooted in intellectual and rational superiority complexes. It’s a “i am more rational and intelligent than you, how can you believe in something so obviously fake” thing as opposed to a reaction to a societal institution that upholds their oppression and abuse.

Women, PoC, Queer people, immigrants, trauma survivors, etc:  How can I believe in something that teaches you to be cruel?  How can I trust the books that tell me of peace and love, when you use your faith to hurt me?  How can a loving god allow [insert injustice of the day]?

White Men: I, as an Intellectual, eschew silly superstitions that say I might, someday, after my death, face one (1) single consequence.

Florence and the Machine at last night’s Spotify event in Brooklyn. As Florence began to sing Sky Full of Song a literal storm began to hit, she never faltered and embraced the storm.

Watching this was an ethereal experience

this queen literally summoned a storm during her performance when will your fave ever control the weather with such accuracy

Florence Welch is just one of those people that /are/ magic like if homegirl pulled up to an interview saying she met with faeries when she was a child and they’re what inspired her to pursue music i would NEVER second guess I’d just assume that they gifted her with a talent for magic because she gave them a breadcrumb or smth

Poche Posh is the first and only store where all the clothes have pockets

Poche Posh was created by me (Jessica) and my best friend Visha who noticed that most of our clothes didn’t have pockets. After seeing years of Tumblr complaints, and being excited every time our clothes had pockets, we decided to create Poche Posh. All the clothes have pockets. Yes – all of them!

Thank you all so much, this entire company was inspired by the people of Tumblr (I have another account, and have been on the site for 6 years, and after seeing people constantly talk about pockets I knew that something had to be done ❤

Share this with anyone who loves pockets on their clothes!

@realphilosophytube , “The Philosophy of Antifa

“If you’re a political enemy of fascism though, either they lose or you die”

Transcript of the gifs:

If you’re a fascist and anti-fascists come for you, you have a choice. You can give it up. You can renounce what you said. You could go on with the rest of your life and stop turning up to fascist rallies. Anti-fascists probably aren’t going to be your best friends, but they’ll move on.

But if you’re a person of color, if you’re trans, or a person with a disability, or gay, or Jewish and fascists come for you, there is nothing you can do to make them happy except stop existing.

That’s the key difference between the far-left and the far-right. Anti-fascists organize themselves against those that are building fascism. If you are doing that, that is something you can nonviolently stop doing. If you’re a political enemy of antifa, you can become a friend. If you’re a political enemy of fascism though, their they lose or you die.
