Most people’s immune systems shrugged it off but people with compromised immune systems (birth defects or diseases such as HIV) could become seriously ill or in this case die as a result of it.
Damn, that’s crazy that it happened, I’m glad I know not to buy them now.

The second it became clear that Blue Bell was the source, they voluntarily shut down their facilities and recalled EVERYTHING they currently had on the market, around 8 million gallons of ice cream.
They tested, disassembled and thoroughly sterilized, then retested their manufacturing equipment. At least one major piece of equipment was thrown away,presumably because they couldn’t guarantee it was safe.
They tracked down the source of the “outbreak” and submitted a root cause analysis (with some info redacted here) to the FDA. And then they slowly started manufacturing again, releasing a few flavors at a time, testing each shipment before sending them out.
This happened over a year ago. They’re still recovering.
They threw away MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep people safe instead of, you know, trying to keep everything under wraps. (Honestly the tagline here should be “We Scare Because We Care” or somethin.) Blue Bell is a fricken solid and honest company.
So, yeah, enjoy your ice cream! ALL OF BLUE BELL IS DOING EVERYTHING PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO KEEP IT SAFE AND DELICIOUS.

Seriously like. Are you supposed to write off every company with some kind of contamination scare? Even after they go to these lengths to fix everything? Shit is gonna happen and that sucks balls, even when a company tries to ensure their facilities are clean, so how is it wrong to give them a second chance?

#NoMenMidterms and #HERstory hashtags are being pushed by obvious troll accounts.
Notice the Republican trope of using the word “Democrat” when referring to the Democratic Party (instead of Democrats with an “s” on the end). And then there’s the conservative fixation on George Soros, and LOL, “the Matriarchy”. Also, the notable usage of weaponized identity politics. (Do I even need to address the comic sans font?)
And most of the accounts pushing these hashtags have fewer than 100 followers, and are recently created (but older accounts may have been literal “sleeper” accounts).
So anyway, this is where we’re at right now. GOP bots, Russian bots and “sup guy find more here” bots spreading like crazy on social media. Please be wary of the media you consume. Some of it is propaganda.
This may have started out as a “joke” on 4Chan, but it’s only gonna get worse (and more sophisticated and harder to detect) as we get closer to November.
I met the creator of this a month ago and he said he got a lot of hate mail from dudebros who thought that he was a woman complaining about these problems.
you are more than enough. you do so much to make the people around you feel loved please pause and make sure you feel loved as well. do not allow your own needs to become invisible amongst the needs of everyone around you. while it is extremely important to help others it is also incredibly important to love yourself so you can continue caring for others with the same energy as before. a tired you, is a sad you. get some rest. get some love. you are doing so well, take care of your heart.
